Yield monitor data contains a wealth of useful information. But many farmers and consultants only use the yield data to make a map—one that may be pretty, but rarely is used to make better management decisions. Precision Land Service uses yield data, coupled with accurate field boundaries and soil fertility data, to help farmers visualize production data in a way that can improve their farm’s profitability.
Precision Land Service follows a three-step process throughout each service we offer to help farmers increase yield and profit.
→ Collect
Accurate collection is everything. A hydraulic powered soil probe is operated by an experienced sampler to collect accurate data for our clients. Our repeatable process gets the needed data from the right parts of the field to increase yield.
→ Analyze
We partner with certified testing laboratories to draw the right conclusions. Scott’s training as a licensed Environmental Engineer provides the necessary background to accurately read, understand, and implement recommendations from laboratory analysis.
→ Custom Solutions
Our agronomic recommendations are not a one-size-fits-all approach. The custom solutions we develop for our clients account for their actual costs. They select the option that best fits their budget and land ownership or rental longevity.

Precision Land Service offers custom solutions as part of the following services:
Collect GPS field boundaries and tile mapping
Create farm/field boundary using RTK GPS, ATV, and experienced operator.
Tile mapping created using RTK GPS, ATV, and experienced operator.
Collect and analyze fall/spring soil samples
Grid-sampling - Site-specific GPS-guided soil sampling of 1-acre, 2.5 acre or larger grids with Midwest Laboratory analysis of OM, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, pH, CEC, and percent base saturation. Micronutrients, SCN, and complete biological health analysis are optional and can be added individually.
Composite-sampling – Field or zone soil sampling with Midwest Laboratory analysis of OM, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, pH, CEC, and percent base saturation. Micronutrients, SCN, and complete biological health analysis are optional and can be added individually.
Collect and analyze in-season soil samples for nitrogen
Site-specific nitrogen recommendations from Adapt-N modeling and GPS-guided soil sampling for nitrate nitrogen. Includes in-season alerts, site-specific nitrogen calibrations, laboratory results, application maps, prescriptions, and calibration analysis.
Create variable rate fertilizer prescriptions
Create VR fertilizer prescription maps for lime, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and sulfur from existing soil sample records for each field.
Create variable rate planting populations prescriptions
Develop planting prescription map for desired plant population rate for each corn hybrid or soybean variety using client’s soil fertility layers, yield layers, and environmental characteristics of each field.
Analyze harvest data
Analyze harvest data for soil fertility, nitrogen, and planting prescriptions. Calculate P-K-S removals and update associated yield goals. Prepare yield maps, annual trends, annual precipitation maps, and available USDA County-wide production summary.
