We collect better data.
At Precision Land Service, Scott is a farmer and a licensed Environmental Engineer who provides custom precision agriculture solutions to his clients. It alls starts with an accurate soil sample!
Farmers hire Precision Land Service because we are passionate about helping our clients increase yield and profit through implementing unbiased recommendations. Precision Land Service does not sell seed, fertilizer, or equipment. Because Precision Land Service is an independent third party, our first priority is to provide the client with the precision ag data and analysis necessary to operate profitably.
Our custom solutions are results-driven and centered on three core practices.
Consistent Soil Sampling Methods
Most competing soil sampling firms use manual soil probes to collect soil samples. They locate their sample points using a simple grid without regard to terraces, waterways, and previous yield data. Each sample is collected usually within 15 feet of their ATV. Even if a competitor uses an automated soil probe, they rarely collect samples from areas larger than 100 feet. This approach causes many potential errors.
Precision Land Service uses consistent soil sampling methods. Our soil sampling technique is automated, accurate, and repeatable year-after-year. Each sample is precisely located in the office using available data and collected from a much larger area in the field to prevent errors due to previous applications. This approach is unrivaled in the soil sampling industry. We utilize a fleet of GPS-guided ATVs to collect 1-acre, 2.5-acre or larger grid samples utilizing hydraulic-powered soil probes with electronic depth sensors to get the highest quality soil cores for analysis. Better cores equal better results for our clients!
This scientific approach to soil sampling removes inconsistent collection depths due to human fatigue or error often found in less accurate soil sampling approaches. The Precision Land Service approach creates repeatable data – allowing clients to see year-after-year soil fertility trends at each sample location and averaged across each field and farm. Both landowners and farm operators alike appreciate the accuracy and level of detail provided by Precision Land Service’s soil sampling services.
Comprehensive Yield Data Analysis and Integration
Precision Land Service takes data from our client’s combine yield monitor and turns it into actionable solutions that will increase the client’s profit.
We use a rare approach of leveraging GPS-enabled yield data from our client’s combines to engineer a fertility prescription that accurately accounts for the nutrients removed by each crop. The yield data from the combine leads to a custom fertilizer plan for each field based on actual production.
Our approach creates accurate yield goals and fertility prescriptions for each field that is based on actual production and each farmer’s fertilizer budget. Precision Land Service’s fertility prescriptions are based on real-world soil tests and yield data and are not biased by external pressures to sell the farmer more fertilizer.
Data-Focused Solutions
At Precision Land Service, we do not sell seed, fertilizer, or technology equipment. Our priority is to provide data-focused solutions that improve yields and profit.
We also recognize that today’s farming equipment generates an overwhelming amount of data. Precision Land Service’s data-focused solutions helps you organize and make sense of this information. We create several soil fertility recommendations – not just “one size fits all” – to match the farmer’s budget.
Whether inventorying field boundaries with ATVs outfitted with RTK-GPS equipment, collecting accurate soil samples through the use of GPS-guided hydraulic powered soil probes, or preparing detailed calculations of harvest data that lead to improved yields, our team is focused on turning data into custom solutions that maximize your operation’s yield and profit.
Data Usage: Your data is your data and won’t be sold or used in any way. We do use Precision Land Service’s database in aggregate to understand trends in clients’ data, but we never use data that’s personally identifiable or specific to you.
